Episode 1: Chippewa River
We’re Brooke and Taylor, and in this episode of River Runners, we’re heading to the Chippewa River in Midland, Michigan! It might look calm on the surface, but there’s a lot going on beneath the water—and along the banks. As we paddle and explore, we learn about some of the invasive species causing problems in the watershed and how they impact the local ecosystem. We also roll up our sleeves for a mini riverbank cleanup, picking up trash and doing our part to keep this river beautiful. It’s not all work though—there’s plenty of joking around and chaos. This episode is a mix of learning, adventure, and getting our hands dirty for fun and for a good cause. Whether you’re into conservation, kayaking, or just tagging along for the ride, we’re glad you’re here. We can’t wait to share with you what the Chippewa River has in store!
